Meet “Ruthie”, Newest Member of the VBAS Staff!

Thanks to a partnership with Guide Dogs of America, Ruthie, a two-year-old Yellow Labrador, has joined VBAS as our trained facility dog.

A facility dog is a type of service dog working with a handler to interact with different people. With her calm demeanor and strong work ethic, Ruthie is happiest when taking direction and following commands. Whether working with groups or individuals, Ruthie loves her job and brings comfort and joy through her presence, always eager to make a positive impact.

Carrie Hill, Primary Teacher at VBAS has undergone specialized training to be Ruthie’s handler; after training in California, Ruthie is quickly settling into the routine at VBAS!
