VBAS Artists Celebrated at Capitol Art Showcase Reception

Vivian B. Adams School is proud to share the success of the 2026 Capitol Art Showcase Exhibition held in the historic Old Supreme Court Library inside the Alabama State Capitol.
Eleven VBAS artists proudly displayed their artwork as part of the statewide exhibition throughout the month of May, showcasing the creativity, imagination, and talents of individuals with disabilities from across Alabama. The exhibition provided a meaningful opportunity for artists to share their work in a highly respected public setting while celebrating the importance of inclusion and self-expression through the arts.
Several VBAS individuals, family members, caregivers, and supporters attended the special reception held on Thursday, May 21, to celebrate the artists and view the exhibit. The event offered a wonderful opportunity for families and guests to experience the excitement and pride of seeing the artists’ work displayed in the Alabama State Capitol.
VBAS extends appreciation to everyone who supported the artists and helped make the experience so meaningful for the individuals served.
The next public display of VBAS artwork will take place in October at the Rudd Art Center in Ozark, where additional artwork created by VBAS individuals will be showcased for the community to enjoy.
