Nature Clubhouse is Now Complete!

The Nature Clubhouse Restoration Project at Vivian B. Adams School is officially complete and we are already seeing the positive impact it is making! What was once an aging structure has been transformed into a safe, welcoming, and accessible outdoor learning space where individuals can connect with nature, learn new skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

The clubhouse is a peaceful gathering place for hands-on learning, gardening activities, sensory exploration, life skills instruction, and social interaction. Since opening, the space has been filled with creativity and engagement. Individuals have proudly displayed nature-themed artwork created through the VBAS HeArt program, and members of our Transitional Department recently gathered there for a fun, hands-on terrarium workshop. We look forward to many more opportunities for learning, growth, and connection in this special outdoor space.

On behalf of the individuals, families, staff, and Board of Directors of Vivian B. Adams School, we extend our sincere appreciation to the legislators, WRCD and the Daniel Foundation of Alabama,  funding partners who supported the Nature Clubhouse Restoration Project.  This investment is helping improve quality of life and expand possibilities for individuals of all abilities. Vivian B. Adams School remains deeply grateful for the continued partnership, advocacy, and commitment shown to the individuals and families we proudly serve.
